Dr. Kasow has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 2007. He recently joined the Atlanta Orthopedic team in the fall of 2010 adding the specialty of spinal surgery. He specializes in adult degenerative cervical and lumbar spinal pathology, traumatic spinal injuries, motion preservation technology (total disc arthroplasty), and minimally invasive spinal surgery.

Dr. Kasow attended undergraduate college at Emory University. He then attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school where he graduated with honors. He earned the award for academic excellence, graduating first in his class, and was elected to the National Osteopathic Medicine Honors Fraternity.

Dr. Kasow completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He furthered his training with an AO/ASIF Spine Fellowship in spinal surgery at the Spine Education and Research Institute in Denver, Colorado. He received advanced training under the direction of Dr. Bartolome Marre’ in Santiago, Chile where the focus was traumatic spinal injuries at the Hospital de Trabajador. Following his fellowship, he was an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at the Medical College of Georgia, Department of
Orthopaedics. He continues to serve as a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics for the Medical College of Georgia, Department of Orthopaedics.

Dr. Kasow is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ABOS). He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and AO/ASIF Spine North America. Dr. Kasow has completed the Georgia State Workers’ Compensation Medical Provider Training Program.

Dr. Kasow enjoys educating his patients on their underlying condition and personalizing their care to help patients make an informed decision that meets their needs and goals. He is very active in athletics and enjoys basketball, baseball, running, water skiing, and snowboarding. He is married and has 2 children.
