Dr. Zeigler has been practicing in the Atlanta and Gwinnett areas for over twelve years. He founded the practice at Atlanta Orthopedics. Dr. Zeigler is the Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Program at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville and is a past Chief of Orthopedic Surgery there . He also heads the Institute for Orthopedic Trauma and the Accidental and Work Injury Center at Atlanta Orthopedics.
Dr. Zeigler attended undergraduate college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He also attended the University of Florida for medical school, graduating MD with honors. He earned the Academic Excellence Award and was elected to the AOA Honor Medical Society.
The next stop for Dr. Zeigler was Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. During his time there, he worked with the University of North Carolina ACC athletic programs including the Tar Heel Football team, Men’s Basketball team, and National Championship Women’s Soccer team.
After completing his residency, he went on to a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. There, Dr. Zeigler received advanced training in fracture surgery and trauma reconstruction, arthroscopic surgery, knee and shoulder surgery, and total joint replacement. In 2010, Dr. Zeigler attended a special fellowship in orthopedic trauma, concentrating on advanced treatment techniques for pelvic and acetabular injuries.
Dr. Zeigler is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and an AO/ASIF Musculoskeletal Trauma Faculty member. Dr. Zeigler is the only orthopedist in the state of Georgia to be accepted as a member to both the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA). Dr. Zeigler has also completed the Georgia State Workers' Compensation Medical Provider Training Program.
Dr. Zeigler is also the Medical Director of the Atlanta Wellness Lifestyle and Sports Fitness Center in Dacula. He is active in athletics and training including mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, and triathlon.
